Fun in the sun!

One of my family's most favorite family home evenings is walking the golf course collecting abandoned golf balls. They collected them and then hit them into the water. They saved a few and Jared played a game with the kids. He would throw the balls into a shallow area and the kids had to dive for them. He made it a competition - whoever collected the most golf balls was the winner. Those balls provided hours of entertainment.

Is there a better place to celebrate your birthday? Probably I should have spent some quality time with photoshop on this picture of me. Oh well, the older I get, the less I care. What you see is what you get.

The ever-popular triple treo

My family so enjoys what has been affectionately named the triple treo. I am sure the picture is explanation enough. I, however, enjoy being the designated photographer which is always a good excuse for my family to remind me how old and boring I am getting.

California Vacation

Some time this week I will be posting a slide show of the whole vacation. So...stay tunned.

Mission Beach

We spent the first day (Sunday) at the beach. There is just something about the beach that I love. Mark my words, one day I will surf. We went to Mission Beach in San Diego. I was a little bummed becaue it was so cold. I think the high was around 65 degrees that day. That didn't deter my kids or Jared. They spent as much time in the water as they could manage - which wasn't a whole lot. I stayed on the beach warm and dry. After they got their fill of swimming, Dan and my Dad helped them with the obilgatory burying. They shaped Kolton into a muscle man, Kabri to a mermaid (of course), and Koby became a robot. After that we headed to the beach shops and lunched at a little pizza parlor that served huge pizzas.

Sea World

We went to Sea World on the second day of our California trip. It was still pretty cold in the morning but warmed up by afternoon. We got to see a few shows, feed the dolphins and sting rays, pet star fish, walk through a tunnel surrounded by sharks, ride a few rides, see lots and lots of animals, and - oh, yes - dine with Shamu. Now, that was awesome. Our table was right next the water where the whales swam. A trainer was there answering questions we have and showing us the whales' tricks. Then, they actually had one of the whales come up on to an underwater driveway of sorts right in front of our table. Very cool.

Disneyland

Disneyland was amazing. The first day we had breakfast with "Minnie and Friends." The characters all came to your table and would spend as much time with you as you wanted them to. They would take pictures and sign autographs. The second day we had breakfast with the princesses.

Universal Studios

Universal Studios was a little quieter than Disneyland. Mom and Dad were the only ones who went with us. Every body else spent the day at the beach. We went to Universal on Friday and Sunday morning they had a huge fire burning thousands of films and the King Kong set - which was one of my kids' favorites.
