The kids and I joined Jared and the rest of his "hunting buddies" on the skyline for Friday and Saturday of the muzzeload hunt. We, of course, didn't hunt. That would require getting up early and suffering from the cold. I will take none of that. We slept warm, cozy, and late in the trailer.
The Fall colors were incredible. I couldn't resist stopping to take pictures the whole way down. Jared loved that - he was pulling the trailer and having to stop at very narrow places, but it was worth it. I wished I would have had clean clothes for the kids and had them take a shower before we left. They are a little dirty - we were camping after all. Oh well, you get the idea.
These are for those of you with the unlucky misfortune of not living in God's country.

Are you happy now?
I decided I'd had enough of the whining. I fancy myself a binge blogger. You get a lot of blogging from me all at once and then nothing for a long time. However, I thought I would post some Yellowstone pictures to placate those of you who are nagging at me - you know who you are!
Yellowstone was WAY cooler than I thought it would be. Not hardly the trip I imagined. I thought it would be something similar to a trip to Joe's Valley, but NO. The hot pots were awesome, the gysers were way cool, and we got to see animals we have never seen in the wild before. Jack and Dianne almost got attacked by a bear! OK, I might just be a little melodramatic there, but they were close enough to a grizzly to be attacked. Lucky for them he just wasn't in the mood.
I may grace you with more pictures later - if you're lucky. JK - I am just sooooo impressed by those of you who make time. I love to read all of yours.

Bear World
Our first stop was at Bear World. We got to see LOTS of lazy bears and enjoy the petting zoo. We see lots and lots of deer all the time, but it was fun to be able to pet a few. The little goats kept trying to get our attention by eating our shirts. I wanted to take him home with us.

Lake Powell
Is that boat not the coolest boat ever? This was actually taken at the end of the trip. We are hard to see, but we are all there - except baby Blakey who was taking a nap.

Fun in the sun!
One of my family's most favorite family home evenings is walking the golf course collecting abandoned golf balls. They collected them and then hit them into the water. They saved a few and Jared played a game with the kids. He would throw the balls into a shallow area and the kids had to dive for them. He made it a competition - whoever collected the most golf balls was the winner. Those balls provided hours of entertainment.
Is there a better place to celebrate your birthday? Probably I should have spent some quality time with photoshop on this picture of me. Oh well, the older I get, the less I care. What you see is what you get.

The ever-popular triple treo
My family so enjoys what has been affectionately named the triple treo. I am sure the picture is explanation enough. I, however, enjoy being the designated photographer which is always a good excuse for my family to remind me how old and boring I am getting.
